Can keyboard transparent/keyboard wedge MSRs be used with New Device Framework?

Summary:

Devices that can be used in NCR Counterpoint in 8.4.x or later when using New Device Framework.

Cause:

No. New Device Framework, which was introduced in 8.4.2, only supports OPOS devices.  Keyboard transparent devices, including MSR’s, are not supported when using New Device Framework.

Solution:

In Setup/Point of Sale/Devices, several certified OPOS MSR’s are listed, including the NCR Built in MSR which is installed on NCR hardware terminals for use with NCR Counterpoint.   Additionally, 3rd party MSR’s which use OPOS drivers compatible with NCR Counterpoint can be added by selecting ’Other OPOS MSR’ and selecting the OPOS name of the installed device.
