Summary:

When interfacing G/L distributions to Quickbooks, the error You may not use more than one A/R or A/P account in the same transaction is returned.

Error: Invalid Type for Interface

Cause:

When QuickBooks encounters an entry or import file with two or more account numbers that match the Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable type in the same transaction, this message will be displayed.

Solution:

Change the account types in the account setup in Quickbooks.

  • When this message occurs as Accounts Payable distributions are interfaced set the account type for Receivings Accrual and RTV Accrual accounts to Other Current Liability.
  • When this message occurs as Accounts Receivable distributions are interfaced set the account type for Accounts Receivable accounts to Other Current Asset.
