Error: DTC is not running on your SQL server. DTC must be running to upgrade or remove data

Cause:

This message is typically seen when using the Data Migration utility or when interfacing accounting distributions using an export accounting interface

The Distributed Transaction Coordinator service must be running on the SQL Server and on the system used to perform the migration or interface.

Solution:

Follow these steps to start and configure the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service.

Go to Start / Run and type: services.msc (or from Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services)
Right-click the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service and click Start
