The ’Default From Address’ is not being honored when using Gmail
Summary:
The ’Default From Address’ specified on the Mail tab of Management Console is not being used with gmail.
Cause:
It is a known issue with gmail that they will only allow e-mail that is registered with them to be sent so you cannot spoof another e-mail address due to spamming issues. You are able to send e-mail to any account but because you are using gmail’s e-mail server to send e-mail, they restrict to whatever e-mail address is registered with them to be the sender.
Solution:
Consider using a SMTP server that would allow spoofing the sender e-mail address. Here are some that may be of interest:
