Some Antivirus applications are known to cause issues. 

Solution:

In some cases simply creating an exception to Counterpoint or a Counterpoint application will work. In other cases like installation the Antivirus software needs to be temporarily disabled. It has been reported that Webroot Antivirus required uninstalling before a successful installation would occur.
