CPDialup Server Configuration utility displays no com ports or modems

Summary:

Dialup Server Configuration utility displays no com ports or modems in the select dropdown.

Cause:

This is usually seen when the utility is not run as administrator.

Solution:

  • Run utility as Administrator (right-click and select 'Run as Administrator')

NOTE: The Dialup Server Configuration utility creates or updates the CPDialup.ini file in your \CPDialup subdirectory. This file contains your dial-up server settings and settings for each modem you define.  This file also contains additional configuration options that cannot be set through the Dialup Server Configuration utility, as well as settings for each of the processors you define. If you modify the setting, please make a backup so that you will have an original to go back to.

If modems do not display in the dropdown list verify the syntax is correct for the file or replace the original back in the directory
