How to find column information for tables

Summary:

How can you determine what is contained in a column in a table?

Solution:

Select Setup / System / Configuration / Data dictionary.
On the System Data Dictionary form, select the table that contains the column in question.
Under Columns, highlight the column name. Any relevant column information appears in the lower section of the Main tab under the Column tab.
