Merchandise Analysis Report and Sales Analysis by Group report do not match (sales, quantity)

Summary:

Why are the total sales amount and the total quantity sold different on the Merchandise Analysis report and the Sales Analysis by Group report?

Cause:

The two reports contain different information, by design.

Solution:

The Merchandise Analysis report includes only those items that are currently on file in the database. Previously sold items that have been deleted from the system will not appear on the Merchandise Analysis report.

The Sales Analysis by Group report includes all items sold during the specified period regardless of whether or not they are still on file in the database.
